Dawn James is an Associate Scientist at Alphazyme. She is responsible in executing enzyme purification’s including small-scale process development. Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at California State University, Fresno, on a project in collaboration with Quest Pharmatech (Canada), focused on the large-scale production of growth factors such as EGF and FGF in yeast and bacteria. She also interned at Valley Children’s Hospital, Madera, assisting in validation studies for the detection of Cytomegalovirus and Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Dawn has also worked as a Biology lab teaching associate at Fresno State. Dawn is originally from India where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Panjab University. She graduated with a Master of Biotechnology from California State University, Fresno. She enjoys singing, reading and exploring new cities and cultures. She grew up in a Christian family and was involved in teaching Sunday school, helping with the youth outreach, and assisting in other activities such as literacy programs.
